Rick:
It would be interesting to see a
version with the wide-angle "falling-over-backwards"
effect corrected, but I suspect it would be a less
powerful image.
I'll try this... The image dynamics is now based on the perspective effect of the pier, which is somewhat continued by the light perspective itself, so I'm not sure it will work as well. But I won't really know until I try.

Paul (and others, too):
It might benefit from a one degree counterclockwise rotation. Then again, it might not.
Definitely.

Kenneth:
I just wish it wasn't centered. Appears it would still work if you offset the light and used one of the pier lines to lead you eye up to the light.
On this picture I wanted to play with the perfect vertical symmetry of the pier and light, that really gives the image a dynamics towards the sea, and this works better centered IMO. Still, your suggestion might yield a different, but interesting image, too. I'll try it next time I go there and keep you posted.

Boris:
Patrice, the Creme de Cassis has to do with your place?
Unfortunately, no! 'Cassis' in 'Creme de Cassis' stands for 'Blackberry' (Blackberry cream, a sweet alcohol). I don't know the origins of the name of the village 'Cassis', but I really doubt it has anything to do with the fruit. Maybe something about the geology of the place?

Thanks again for viewing. I'll post a version fixed per your suggestions soon.

Patrice
