Ok boys & girls... here's something to whet your whistle on.

Years ago in a town owned by the KELLOG family (later known as Flint, MI)
there was a museum devoted to Automobiles (HEY.... it's the MotorCity state, what'd ya
expect, a monument to the Boll Weevil?? [see: Geneva, Alabama]).

Anyway, they had huge, HUGE posters on the walls that were actually close-up photos
of the hood ornaments from antique Autos. I loved them!

Later that year, at the Concours De Elegance, I grabbed my trusty Program Plus,
a monopod & a 70~210 f4 macro & went hog wild shooting.... hood ornaments.
Auburn boattail speedsters, cherry Cords, the DOMINOES[tm] Bentley.

Some came out as close to superb as one could wish for.
(Imagine a cute, blonde, 10-ish yr old girl in a lawn green jumper & tan straw hat
reclining
on the running board of a wine-red Phaeton.) Others were just pics.

Well.... the Concours is coming back next week & I have free tickets.
Anyone have ideas for better pics???

I'm not going to have them blown up to 40' tall posters... but one never knows.
The DEADWINGS won the Stanley Cup didn't they?? lol
