It's not just about the long, rather expensive travel. It's also that I
don't have something longer than 200mm x 1,7 (AF converter). I'm waiting for
a Tamron 200-500/6,9, but I believe it will take a few weeks before I got
it. At digital that's about 200 x 1,7 is similar to 450mm. That may be long
enough, but the aperture at that lens is also stuck at 2,8. This lens also
has a tendency to be soft and have bad contrast at infinity. It's in need of
a CLA.

But, if somebody could lend me something long...

Hmmm, come on Tim, 500km is not considered as a real distance in Norway,
is it? :-)
