But the apertur ring and the focusing turns the wrong way on the Panasonic making it useless to me :-) Too bad that panasonic (of all!) are able to make a funky looking DSLR whereas Pentax is not.

Um, it's basically an Olympus E330 with different styling job. The Oly E300 and E330 both look "different". I found the E300 somewhat clumsy in my hands, there the E330 looks much more usable.

The Pentax DSLR's are so forgettable that I cannot remeber what an *istD actually looks like without seeing pictures of it.

If I made my camera purchase decisions on styling, well ... let's not go there.

Mind you I can't remember what a Canon 20D looks like either. Camera looks aren't that important perhaps but if you don't remember how it looks you may not remember to buy it unless it is a default choice (like Canons)! Nikon seem to be able to fuse some personality into (most) of their cameras. I'm certain that Panasonic is going to sell well.

There I agree with you. I think it will be a fine camera with an excellent lens, other excellent lens options, and a great feature mix: many will love it.
