I don't know what Belgium has to do with it, the city of Breda is in the Netherlands. Yes, I do think companies have a responsibility to provide work for people, but obviously there need to be a profit to enable the company to live up to that.
I have been made redundant by Lucent Technologies end of 2003 after working 18 years for them, and end of last year found a job at Philips Semiconductors. So yes, I know how it feels, and yes, I understand the business reasons for layoffs very well also. Still it hurts.
