Yes, I can understand that. He likes the scenic route. It is easier to just jump back over to 321 via I-40 at Rutherfordton. He probably switched to 18 at Rutherfordton, then to 10, then to 27 and picked up 321 at Linconton, unless he chose to give you a guided tour of the hinderlands around Gastoinia.

BTW, don't those kind of place names make you feel right at home?

Bill sent me to GFM on the I-77 to Statesville (had I had more time, I would have stopped at the Balloonworks factory for a visit), and then over to Boone and on to GFM. I followed him back to Charlotte on a much more scenic route (181?), though the closer we got to his place, the more confusing the road system got.
