The best way I have found is to cut the top layer of the cardboard
around the UPC sticker with a razor blade. Dig up a corner and peel off
the thin layer of cardboard with the sticker attached.
Some companies will accept a photocopy of the UPC code and the receipt.
Others will only accept the originals. In either case make a copy (I
usually just scan them on my flatbed and print them out), and keep which
ever one you do not send as a record.

Recently, I helped a list member from outside the US obtain a lens, for
which there is a rebate available. One of the requirements of obtaining
the rebate is to send along with the paperwork the Universal Product Code.
To be sure I'm doing this right, can someone tell me if this

Ant thoughts on how to get the sticker off without ruining the box?
