Keith, based on the original post on this, I eliminated potatoes & tomatoes (almost all, just an occasional lapse) and my knees have been feeling a whole lot better than they were over the Christmas holidays - I was seriously contemplating a knee replacement this spring.

HI KEN,

Ooops. had the CAPS key down...

I'm glad to hear it!
It's amazing how cutting "most of it" out will show improvements!
IOW, you apparently don't have to be so absolute in your shunning of all nightshade plant family products as you might imagine.

I suppose if I was more rigid in my not eating potatoes and strictly avoiding tomatoes in any form, I might be rid of even *more* pain and stiffness.

I mean I finally managed to cut out cigarettes totally, so I CAN adhere to an onerous "diet" for the betterment of life. But...how much better is it to cut out everything you love to eat?

Ah well, this is OT for the list, so next message I will take it off list. No sense in boring all these good folks with "...the malady lingers on" music! <g>

Good luck to you with your knees. That's dramatic evidence of what sort of improvement one can expect if their debility is a result of the diet they follow! Cut out just potatoes and tomatoes, and significantly improve the health of your joints.
At least three of us here are evidence it works.

Best to all!
