A small percentage of PDMLers will know instantly what this image is
about without looking. Hopefully, curiosity will spur on a few more
to take a look.

The image is not as sharp as it could be - not surprising, really, as
it was taken hand held with a 300 mm lens. 1/60 sec was as fast as I
could get with the lens wide open at 800 ISO.

However, I quite like it. It's one of those photos where the subject
has sufficient interest to overcome technical deficiencies. Well ....
that's my straw and I'm clutching at it.

Comments, as always, most welcome. Technical and other details are
available through the 'i' icon at the top of the image.

....and for those still a bit mystified, there's even a link to
explain "doosra"!

Cricket's among the very few sports that I have no clue about. It
mystifies me, but I kind of like it that way. I think I need one
sport that I'm clueless about - I don't know why, I just do.

Me too. I know more about the mating and eating habits of the Antilles Pinktoe tarantula than I know about cricket. I know that the tarantulas eat crickets. Does that count?

Anyway, a cool pic. Well composed, but very yellow, to my eye.

Yes, a cool pic. I can sense the tension in the air.

Those vertical red sticks are the wicket, right? The guy throwing is
the bowler? And the guy with the bat is a batsman? (except he's
obviously not batting just now).

You know alot more than me.

And that's all I know. Really.

cheers,
frank

Someone handed me a picture and said, "This is a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is when you were younger. "...Here's a picture of me when I'm older." Where'd you get that camera man?
