Just thought I would share my latest photographic journey... briefly,
without the rambling - for the moment :-)
After a Saturday where I did some auto work for family, volunteered at a
Habitat for Humanity build, and then got with friends and acquaintances
to celebrate the life of a friend who decided to take his life a couple
of weeks ago, I needed some time for me.
Sunday was the day. I decided to go to the downtown marina mid-morning
with camera gear loaded in a few bags in the back seat of the car.
I shot a roll of Reala 120 format print film in my 645n.
I shot a couple of rolls of the same in my 67.
I shot a roll of Ektachrome ASA 100 in an LX.
Digitally I shot quite a few shots with my *ist D and even took my Optio
S6 out for a test run. Mostly the *ist D was used to corroborate my
metering, and to have images to share electronically, if I was so inclined.
It was less than two hours, but it was refreshing.
Once back at home, after running a couple of errands, I decided to take
out my fixed-gear track bike around the neighborhood.
I took my S6 with me and took a few snaps to document my travels.
Another two hours of riding around with just a couple of stops to shoot
pics.
With the mention on the list about the Worldwide Pentax Shoot, I hope to
include a shot from each format :-) I should be picking up the film
tomorrow.
I constricted myself to about a 100' radius to my car. It was first
interesting to handle the different cameras and controls. Secondly was
finding things of interest to photograph. Once I picked a couple of
lenses to take with me I worked at just using those focal lengths to
express my 'vision'.
It was overcast mostly, so I was using my Minolta Flash Meter III and
noting the camera recommendations. There was only about a stop
difference throughout the shoot. I usually have to consider the strong
lighting around here.
Definitely not traveling lightly that day,
