I just checked several of my panos and they all are roughly 3 to 1.
I didn't consciously set out to make them that ratio, they just appeared right at that ratio.

At what ratios does a rectangle become a panoramic format?

1:3 aspect.

Is this another photographic rule? <BG>
Just curious if this is an accepted "industry standard" or what.

I didn't go looking for a definition, to be sure.
When we make panoramic prints from APS film or from panoramic 35mm negs, the
size is nominally 4x12 inches.
