I do a search for 600mm F4 lenses from time to time (dreaming really...
sigh) and every few days I see 5 to 10 1-day listings for them starting at
$1.00 no reserve. The auction text says something like "Don't bid, send me
an email and I'll sell you the lens for $1000 free shipping" Looking at the
history of the sellers it's obvious it is a hijacked account because the
other items sold are like figurines or beanie-babies or something. An
obvious scam. The actions are yanked by eBay within hours of posting.

Once there was a Canon 800/5.6 FD (manual focus) lens. I used one of my
throw-away email addresses and inquired of the seller how he could offer a
factory warranty on a lens that hasn't been produced in 20+ years. The
response was "I'm an authorized dealer" Yeah, ok.
