More marketing crap. Close to where I live they are developing the Greenwich Millennium Village, which is a very good development of flats. Before they started to develop the area it was a very run down, but interesting place, called Mudlarks. On the map that part of the river was simply and accurately labelled 'Mud'. I got myself stuck up to the top of my thighs in it once.
I think Mudlarks (on its own) is a great name. But the marketing people can't let it alone, and have called the nearest apartment building 'Mudlarks Boulevard'. Pretentious? Moi? As for Frank's project, I think it's a good idea, but I'm not convinced by the composition of Glendale Mansions. It feels uncomfortable to have the top part cut off, and the slight distortion is disturbing. I think you need to get your parallels parallel for this type of thing to work. http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=585048 -- Cheers, Bob > -----Original Message----- > From: Adam Maas [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 25 March 2006 23:11 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: OT - Apartment Buildings with Names > > I'm liking this, love to see more. > > The naming idea, which was pretty much dead through the 80's > and 90's does seem to be coming back, purely for marketing > purposes though.
