Probably. But instead of comparing it to a Kaidan Kiwi consider the Manfrotto 303SPH Multi Row Panorama Head. It retails locally for about AU$1080. Now consider the cost of it's component parts: 357 Sliding plate $95 (x3), 300N panoramic rotation unit $347, Total cost $632. When you replace the 357 plates for the 454 Micro sliding plates at $120 each, the cost goes up to $707. So with access to a decent workshop you could make one for a bit over half price. Now personally I don't think I need the rotation unit, or the third slide, so the cost drops down to $240. Add $5 worth of miscellaneous materials, $12 for a bulls eye level, plus some time and you end up with the prototype spherical pano head I posted earlier (I know it looks rough, but it is a prototype :-), It's in every way just as functional as the more expensive Manfrotto unit. So how's that for a justification of the cost :-) Dave -- "All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy." - Spike Milligan
