Actually, Aaron gets it completely. As do the others who've done enough
darkroom work to realize that , like processing pics on the computer, it's
just work. Both can be rewarding, both can be difficult and tedious.
Most people seem to consider it (either darkroom work or computer editing)
to be merely a means to an end.
That end being the print that results.
Some people feel the process itself is the important part, with the picture
at the end being more of a byproduct of doing something enjoyable, rather
than a result.
Some of us actually like working in the darkroom as a pastime.
For those of us who feel that way, computer editing is a boring, tedious,
repetitive and brain numbing experience to be loathed and dreaded.
I suspect this is why I hardly ever print from my digital files, but tend to
print a lot from my negatives.
