I am not sure you'll like it or not, Dave, but I have 43 Ltd bought from a fellow PDMLer that is very tight in all respects including aperture ring.

I"ve had similar complaints about various lenses, but my repairman always fixed it by tightening a few screws.
Apparently that sort of malady is easily remedied...
I hope that's all it is.
