Thanks Fred.
I was talking to Joe at Camera Canada Friday when i ordered my Tamron
90mm Macro about Epson and the R220.
I'm looking to retire my Canon BJC 8200 and am thinking of adding an Epson.
Looks like this might be the time.
Did you order directly from Epson or a dealer.??

Quoting Fred Widall <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
I've been following the discussions regarding BO printing over on the
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint/ group and
thought I'd give it a try.
Epson Canada are currently selling R220's for the same price as a
set of ink cartidges. Since I already have an R300, which can use the
same cartridges, the printer is basically free.
I ordered some Eboni Black (neutral) ink from MIS Associates
http://www.inksupply.com/utr2.cfm .
The printer and ink both arrived today and I just ran off my
first couple of prints on Epson Enhanced Matte paper using only
the Eboni black ink.
To my eyes they look good. The greenish tint I was getting with
Epson black ink (dye-based) has gone. The prints seem to very neutral
in colour, but seem to have a nice wide range of tones.
This is using black ink only, not the full set that MIS also sell.
If you would like to learn more take a look at Clayton Jones'
