Subject: Test For Hot Pixels

What's the procedure for testing for hot pixels? I covered the lens and
made an exposure. The frame was all black, and I could not see any bad
pixels. I shot RAW.
Is that all there is to it, or is there something more? Does the exposure
need to be of a certain duration? ISO set to some minimum?

Maqnual exposure, with the lens cap on.
Make sure noise reduction is turned off, and try shooting at times longer than 1/8th second to about 10 seconds. There is a freebie program out there, I think called Dead Pixel Test or some such.
