Hi Frantisek,
I once tested the AF version in Nikon mount (I wanted to use
something better than the 35-70/3.3-4.5 I had at that time with
my F-70).
I'm pretty sure that the MF and the AF versions were the same.
I made some shot from the office where the seller worked, so
this is not a definitive word about it.
Anyway, wide open @28 there is a noticeable light fall-off in
the corners, corners that are not very sharp. Stopped down a
stop or two the lens seems good enough to substitute an average
prime lens. @70 the lens seemed good even wide open, although I
cannot swear on it (I can see if I can find the slides).
On an issue of Tutti Fotografi, the magazine that shows the best
MTF tests in Italy, the lens showed the same performance I had
experienced (it seemed a bit faster wide open than stated, say
2.6 instead of 2.8). The distorsion is well corrected for a fast
zoom lens, and certainly better than the most recent 28-70/2.8
EX (even the sharpness is better, especially in the corners
towards the wide end).
I am not able to say something about the build quality, although
I've had mixed experiences with other Sigma lenses.
If you shoot slides (and it's not your intention as I can see)
you'd notice a huge difference in terms of contrast (less) and
color rendition (a little colder) comparing the Sigma lenses
with the Pentax ones.

Hope this helps.
