...which is why, when my maximum print size at the lab was 24x36, I bought a dedicated film scanner for 35mm and 120, but just bought a flatbed for 4x5.

I'm not happy with the 16x20s from it, but stepping back from them they're fine and I never had a customer complaint about them. They're just not as good as the 16x20s from medium format from the film scanner, and they shouldn't be -- one scanner was like $800 and the other was like $4000. The $4000 one should damn well be better.
