Excellent - except I still think 8119 (man with brolly and lots of
blurry brollies walking past) is too cliched, although the great
unwashed will probably like it.

You say that like it's a bad thing :)

Again, this edit shows a standard of work that is amongst the best
reportage photography I have ever seen. Three or four in particular are
singularly amongst the best photographs of any kind I have ever seen.
I'm in awe. Thanks Juan.

Can I come make a documentary about you?

Sure, I'll bring the beer. :)

Seriously, thanks Cotty again for the superlatives. You exaggerate, of
course. I can see how the man with the flowers is a bit cliche, I
guess you're right. For some reason I keep leaning towards including
it though.

I don't get it. People use terms carelessly, in my most humble opinion.
What's so "cliche" about this image of an older gent carrying a single rose (or whatever it is) and obviously waiting for a meet with someone not yet in evidence?

   Cliche:
1.(adj) used or occurring so often as to have lost interest, freshness,
             or force
(synonym) trite, bathetic, chain, cliched, commonplace, corny, hack,
hackneyed, musty, old hat, shopworn, stale, stereotyped,
             stereotypical, [etc.]

      [...]

I just don't see it.
I'm sure he doesn't feel trite or corny. He looks a little nervous, having dressed up a little for the occasion and bought a flower from a vendor; and I'm also pretty sure the person he meets who gets the flower will smile and be nothing but appreciative and very well pleased.
What's wrong with those emotions?
