If you had been on the other side of those raindrops you'd be asking 'what
are those funny spectral lines doing running through my photographs?'. :-)

Thanks to all who responded.
This (quoted below) is the best explaination.
I don't have these problems with shots 15 minutes earlier or later,
just these 4-5.
I didn't have to clean the lens after the shoot (using a hood).
I don't have any water or salt on it (San Diego harbor).
So I guess it's just a temporary thing.
Suprises the hell out of me! Backlit raindrops!
