I'm going to give it a "go" with my MX before selling it.
(unless someone wants my MX [x sync not working] with winder for
$100.)
Eric Henderson, the Pentax repair specialist you refer to, did a fine
job of repairing the film advance and doing a CLA, including new foam
and light seals, on my MX recently. His price for this work was only
$79 and the camera now operates like new. If all you need is a flash
synch repair I'm sure that it will cost much less.
Eric has CLAed and/or repaired a half dozen or so of my Pentax
bodies, mainly Spotties. His charges are modest and the quality of
his work is outstanding. He gets my highest recommendation.
