Howdy, crew!
Hi Scott!
Who has the FA50/2.8 macro?
Me.
What do you like/dislike?
If I don't need faster f-stops and weight is not an issue, it's perfect for any 50mm purpose. The front element doesn't rotate, so polarizers are usable, which is an important point for me.
Any opinions on using it for portraiture on a digital body?
It's probably too sharp for some kind of portraits, otherwise, it's usable from 2.8 on. I rather like sharp protraits, so I would very probably use it for portraits. IIRC, I made some very pelasing protraits on film.
If you can afford it, go and get it. You'll never regret it. Another candidate for LBA? My new SMC-F 35-135 arrived today...
BTW, "Enforcement today" rates it as the #1 50mm lens for self defense. Cheers, Pancho
