Camera Raw v3.x defaults are to use sidecar files, where Camera Raw
v2.x defaults to using its centralized cache. You should start up CS,
open a PEF with Camera Raw v2.4, and set the preferences to use
sidecar files...
You have to use the Camera Raw menu to do it, it's not in the
Photoshop CS preferences menu.
