Subject: a bit OT: DSLR add-ons -- practical or fantasy

Some of these are clearly fantasy, but would you still want any
         of them?

         1. Active, secure, live network connection
(What I've directly asked of Pentax)

When I have my camera plugged into a USB port on one of my computers I have exactly that - what network are you looking for, Collin? Wireless?

         2. GPS data stored

Only useful for you if you have no idea where you took the shot, or for later examination by a forgetful photographer or a descendant! And what woud a GPS hardwrae/software setup add to the cost and/or bulk of the cmaera?

         3. Compass data stored (directi0n pointed, 3-d)

Don't think that has other than very esoteric uses for most people, although again there have been occasions when I would have liked to have been a little more sure of the exact viewpont of, particularly, a landscape shot. But see above re cost and bulk

         4. Automatic watermark or other security measure in-camera.

Definitely not - these can be added later if needed

         5. Multiple processors -- 1 for image grabbing, one for image
storage. Requires a multi-threaded OS -- Time for LINUX!

Whichever OS, many are multi-threaded of course, but again cost could be a factor.

What would you like to see?
