Boris, Seeing as I was about the only one here that liked this pic, I'll just say again what a good shot it is. I think the composition is about perfect for the scene, and the relative size of the girl is absolutely fine. The overall feeling is one of 'the insignificance of man against nature' and that is illustrated well here. I had no trouble spotting the person in the frame, even in a low-res web version. I also think that, printed nice and large, this pic would be a lovely one to hang on the wall, but in no way does it detract by being smaller as a web image. The only thing I can think of that might improve the shot would be to expose the scene with a better pattern of breaking waves. This may or may not have been possible, although the small section of breaker you have captured looks like it was just about to expand, without getting too close to the rocks. Maybe even breaking onto the rocks, with another starting behind - I don't know, but just looking at patterns in the water to find any way to make it even more interesting than it actually is. I watched for quite some time a similar scene with my Leica CL and 40mm Summicron with FP4 before I decided this was exactly the effect I wanted: <http://www.cottysnaps.com/snaps/landscapes/images/pic11.html> I was about 200 feet up and the beach was isolated, so no hope of someone in the sand at lower right to give some scale, but I knew that, so went with just nature creating patterns. On a different day with more wind, you'd get lots of frothy water crashing about, but then having a girl there might not work at all. The pic you presented is a fine study of nature and the place we have as human beings within it. Don't be disheartened by a few voices telling you how 'it would work better if printed bigger' - that it may do, but it works just as well for me as it is. Remember - make pictures for yourself. If you are happy, then what else matters? One other person likes it and that's a bonus :-) Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________
