Patrice, The first photo shows very well the convoluted landscape and winding road, but lacks a center of interest--the eye just keeps wandering around it.
In the second photo, I have an urge to drag the frame to the left. The dark far right doesn't add anything, and it looks as though there may be some elements to the left that would lead the eye to the peak.
