The only noise mine makes is the rattle from the plastic film "grippers"
on the film take-up spool.
One thing I did notice, the auto-timer spring seems to be quite tired.
I spoke with my tech (last CLA) & we pretty much agreed that it's
probably a teensy-tiny spring (much like a watch spring) that'll be a
BEAR to change & a new one (if it can be had at all) probably won't be
that much of an improvement. I don't use it (never have)... but how's
the springs on other cameras as old fairing??

Someone was kicking it abt filters recently....
While digging out my ME Super from its gear bag (more museum than
working bag) I "discovered" a stack of 49mm PENTAX filters...
("So THAT's where they got off too... I thought I had more somewhere!")
They weight a TON compared to some Hoya's I've got... esp the PL's
Running (dancing) to the PENTAX website, I didn't find any.
Does Pentax still make em or have they surrendered the field to the
competition??

And while I'm here....
While perusing the "junk" table of a camera shop (must be a year ago
now)... I picked up an AF 1.7x adapter. Supposedly one can mount it to
their AF-Pentax & use their M & A style lenses in AF mode.
Anyone have any experience with this item??
I don't own an AF, but for the $12 they wanted for it (NOS) & spotting
the yellowed $150 price tag, I just couldn't let it pass.
Is thing actually useful or should I have just rolled the $12 up &
smoked it? <g>
Think it'll only work on certain AF's... or right down the line to the
ZX-5N??
