Watermark.  With the GIMP or PhotoShop, create a text description,
such as "Copyright 2006 Dreaming Crow Studios", and make it a png.  Pull the
opacity slider down to about 20%, and then copy that layer onto your target
image.

If you want a way to do that without it being visible, you'll need to do
more research, as I don't know how. :)
