John Francis is the man with this big gun, but I think he went on holiday
for several weeks.  I had the opportunity to try it out one time when some
Pugsters got together.  I didn't try it on a monopod, as it was already
mounted and waiting on a tripod.  But I do remember that he has used it on a
monopod.  It looked pretty big on there.  I would probably want one of the
sturdy bogens without a head, just screwed straight into the lens mount.  It
is a sweet piece of glass.  I was thinking that it is similar in size and
weight to the 600 f4, if any of those owners would care to comment on
monopod usage.
