BTW, I should have added that you have some very nice work here. To expand on
what I've said below, if I were working on these in the PSCS RAW converter, I
would be adjusting the shadow control to set the black point. I think the
blacks can go deeper without going off the histogram. But that's why the
histogram is provided. It helps you see when too much is just too much. I'd
also turn up the exposure until I either achieved the overall brightess I
wanted or until the histogram indicated that highlights were being clipped. If
highlights started clipping before I achieved sufficient brightness, I would
brighten the midrange some more with the brightness slider. I would also look
at everything at 200% to see if any CA was evident. If I saw any color banding,
I would try to eliminate it with the CA adjustment. I would then set my output
size to 16 bit 144 megabyte, select prophoto colorspace and convert. (I make
all my files large for the masters.) I then might perform some add!
 itional
adjustments in PhotoShop and apply Unsharp Mask as needed. For the web images
I would size them at 13 inches on the long side at 72 dpi using bicubic
sharper. Then I would convert to Srgb and do a "Save for Web" in PhotoShop.
