Hi David,
Silver, and it's pretty well unblemished. Normally I would jump right in
and reskin it, but the leatherette is in pretty good condition too, so
maybe I'll enjoy the original feel for a while.

Michel kindly pointed me to his suggestions on fixing the ASA ring
(definitely stuck). Might splurge on a set of JIS tools too.
Truly, save my soul, I have crossed over into the realm of collectorhood.

I missed the original post but there are three possibilities I can
think of.
1. Check that the exposure compensation is set to zero. The ASA ring
is locked if there's any compensation set (this is a feature).
2. The ring itself could be jammed, which is apparently common if it's
not been used for a while. I'm told it's a pretty easy repair.
3. Maybe the pushbutton-ring-release mechanism is broken somehow.
This is pretty unlikely, which is good because you probably don't want
to need spare parts for a K2.
I'm jealous that you found such a nice kit... is it a silver or a
black K2?

I recall someone on this list mentioning the K2 ASA ring has a
common fault. But I can't find it in the archives (sorry, wasn't
paying attention at the time of the thread). Mine seems to be stuck
- press the ASA button, and no way does the ring want to turn. Is
this something easily fixable?
