It's sort of been mentioned on this thread before, but let's not forget 
that the lens in question also can do other things than focusing close. 
And rather well, if it's anything like my F-100 macro. After I bought 
this lens used last year, everyone here said I was going to love it, so 
I stubbornly tried to dislike it, but found that I couldn't ;-) It's by 
far the lens I've used most since I got it, and most of the shots are 
actually not macro. I think it is really nice "on the street", for 
instance. I also rather like the "feel" of this lens, but that's going 
to be different with the D-FA...
