Maybe a better option than trap is to prefocus on a specific spot, use manual 
metering or an eyepiece blind with AE, then fire the shutter with a remote.  
Using this method, you can concentrate on composition and estimating when the 
bird is in focus - the digital advantage of instant review coming to the fore.
