I've shot with Leicas since the early 1980's. (Before that, I was a Nikon man... how I ended up switching is a long story, not to be told here.) Over the years, my Leica's have drawn little attention, other than the occasional "nice camera", because it looks impressive in size, compared to the average point & shoot. Rarely, someone will ask, with the conversation going something like: "Nice Camera" "Thank you." "I've got a Pentax," "Nice Camera" "Is that 'thing' you have as good as a Pentax?"
