Last week I had the chance to meet Kostas here, in
Barcelona, and it was thanks to the list so I would
like to let you all know.
We spent a couple of nice hours talking about football
and photography, and walking a lot around the Gothic
Quartier.

Kostas kindly brought its MZ-S to BCN, along with its
F 70-210, so I could play a bit with them. I let him
try my Ds, along with the 18-55 kit, 28-105 f3.2-4.5,
and K85 f1.8.

I liked a lot the MZ-S. Although I had seen it before,
I didn’t remember it was so small. The viewfinder is a
joy, and, having lots of problems with horizons, I
appreciated the grid on it.
The 70-210 seemed also nice, although a little bit
heavy for my taste.

Kostas also seemed to like the Ds but no enough to
cross the dark side line, I am afraid. ;-)
He tried a lot the 28-105. In my opinion, is a perfect
travel lens, with a great field of view…for film. The
digital equivalent would be a 17-70, and that’s why I
am considering the Sigma offering, and maybe sell my
unit. (I don’t see a similar lens in Pentax’s
roadmaps).
Finally, he also tried the K85 f1.8 lens. Both agreed
in that it is perfectly usable in the Ds. Contrary to
the 28-105, the FOV of this lens is even better in
digital.

Here are some links:
(WARNING: This is my first attempt with google's
Picasaweb. It is convenient, but the pictures would
need some sharpening after being resized. Anyway, they
are OK for its purpose).

‘montaditos’.

That’s me in ‘my’ square. BTW, Kostas managed to get a
near perfect histogram with this shot.
