Hi!

I've bought Philips 17P50 CRT monitor. For some odd reason it really
hurts my eyes. I've run Adobe Gamma and profiled it. Yet, after 10-15
mins in front of it my eyes start to hurt real badly. My wife also
complains.

Now, I went to the service shop. Guy there offered to lower the
brightness (set currently at 90) and contrast (set at 60). I didn't
quite like this idea because that would mean problems with my photo
editing...

So, I was offered to buy Philips 200W6CS LCD screen as a replacement.
The service guy claimed this screen to be dedicated to photo editing
because it has 16 million colors (24 bit color).

Suppose I have the money to pay the difference in price between CRT
and LCD - is it indeed that good - this LCD screen? Any of you have
any experience with it? Is it worth it?

Currently I've no computer at home 'cause I've no screen. The screen
is in the service shop. On Sunday I'm going to bring my PC and they'll
give me a try run on LCD to see with my eyes is it enough for my
photography. But they claim that CRT is in perfect order, and it
really hurts my wife's and my eyes...

Any word of help would be greately appreciated.
