Noooo, it's not because they disagree. Using digital is to many people just
a statement: "I use the most modern, the lates new gear. And I can afford a
500 or 1000 USD camera" Digatal is "in", but not necassarily the best
solution for the persons needs. For the same reason many people buy Canon or
Nikon - because it's a statement:
"I use the same gear as the pro's - so I really know something about
photography".
And then digital is of course very cheap to use. That doesn't mean it's
always best - IMO.

Many P&S digital camera users never even have print made ...

I shoot 98% digital. That doesn't mean I can't see the advantages of using
film - when film is the better choise.

Millions of people disagree with you. And they've expressed their
disagreement by abandoning film in droves. Is the vast majority of the
world wrong, while Jens is right? I doubt it.
