The D's maximum write speed is slow enough that the 15% potential  
performance degradation of a 60x SD card will never be noticed in- 
camera.

Adapters of this type fit in my Canon, Sony and Konica MInolta  
cameras. I have two of them and use them interchangeably with CF  
cards. I can't imagine that the Pentax *ist D would not take them  
just as easily since it can take microdrives.
