The cost of paper and inks for the Epson R800 doesn't seem to be all
that different than for the Oly P440. I have assumed that one set of
inks would last for 100 A4 prints. Whether that is true or not I don't
know - my last lot would never have lasted that long - so the
consumables for the inkjet may turn out to cost more than those for
the dye-sub.

According to the Epson site it would set me back £126- for a full set
of inks and 100 sheets of premium glossy A4, against £180- for the
P440 equivalents. Other dye-subs are a lot cheaper, and presumably I
could get the inkjet consumables more cheaply, but the difference
isn't as big as I expected.

I wouldn't particularly mind about the lack of choices provided the
quality, cost etc. were ok.

Why are dye-subs more prone or more sensitive than inkjets to dust?
