Drivers all check out fine.  Connection to the network never breaks.  Just the 
browser (on the desktop machine.... it's nearly 38degrees in this room and I'm 
falling asleep) is refused (presumably) an internet connection.  None of the 
Windows network/internet/system parameters have been changed, nor any of the NS 
connection parameters, it just suddenly started happening.  I assumed it was 
the network until I noticed that the mail client continued to function through 
it all.  I'm not going to get a chance to have a good look at it again until 
tomorrow night but I'm still grateful for any input.
