The head arrived this morning and I've tried it out with a 300mm Sigma mounted on the D. It's very light and I like the springs -- they help to keep the camera counterbalanced. Setting the camera level is easier than with the pan tilt head I've been using on the big tripod. It fits nicely on my table stand as well and I can finally get rid of the little ball head I've been using for indoor macros for forty years -- it's tired. Now I need a couple more plates and I'm set up for the foreseeable future.
