Thanks - I wandered into a couple of shops (I'm in the UK by the way) and
bought a 100-300 Sigma for �110, looked at the 70-300 APO and yes it's a bit
more sharp but no-one had a pentax mount in stock and I go away for a few
days (taking son sightseeing in London) so wanted something >200mm for the
trip on the London Eye.
If it turns out to be not good enough I'll take it back and get the 70-300
APO, it'll just be a while coming ;-(
