Despite my name I speak little French. All three of my kids, however, went/go to French schools, so are perfectly bilingual. They used to laugh at my accent, and (like you) if their little francophone friends were over, would ask me to chat with them for their entertainment. What's a father to do? Of course I happily complied with their wishes.
