Just head up north a couple of counties - Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Mendocino. Now that you can, make a nice day trip or an over night out of it. The Mendo fair in Anderson Valley is my favorite - a real Old Tyme County Fair in a wonderful setting. It's been a while since I've attended, but even for an Olde Farte like me it was fun. I believe it's in September - focuses somewhat on the apple harvest.
