You are wrong!!!!!!!!
CCD's are extremely sencetive for IR and I have seen beautiful digital IR pictures!!
What is different is there is not the typical IR grain!
for normal picture taking you need an UV&IR filter to keep contrast ok.

<camera can do infrared photography. I'm pretty sure current ones can't and
<wonder if it would ever be possible (even if it's possible technically,
<it probably would require a special CCD, for which there wouldn't be enough
