True, but accuracy is more expensive to achieve with a mechanical
system. You will of course always have a mechanical system in the lens
as long as the diaphragm itself is a mechanical device, but with the
mechanical set-up as it now exists, you have two mechanical systems,
one in the camera, one in the lens, *both* of which must made
accurate. With an electronic system like Canon or Minolta, half this
mechanical stuff is eliminated.
