If you have a shop equipped for working on those things you simple drop the entire drive train from the car and work on it separately. Trying to disassemble the thing in the car is a nightmare. Old Volkswagons were the same way you could hoist up the car and drop the engine/transaxel in a few minutes, or you could lay under the car for hours, cussing it.
Modern vehicles simply are not made to be repaired at the roadside like the very old ones were. -- graywolf http://www.graywolfphoto.com http://webpages.charter.net/graywolf "Idiot Proof" <==> "Expert Proof" ----------------------------------- Gonz wrote: > > Hmm, have you ever dropped a transmission on a front wheel drive car vs > a rear wheel drive?
