"...like naked animals..." I don't find it offensive, just incomprehensible. Humans originally took to wearing clothes for protection (cold), decoration and convenience (belts and pockets). You could also add hygiene as a legitimate reason. Unlike animals, humans have subsequently adopted strange notions that certain bits of bodies are offensive or indecent or something. In this context, the phrase "like naked animals" (lacking strange hang-ups) is to me, more of a compliment than an insult.
